Effective 2026-08-17. Doc Scanner 2027 has no advertising, analytics, developer account system or developer-operated document storage.
Camera, files and local OCR
Captured pages, signatures, PDFs and HTML files stay in private app storage. Free Latin-script recognition runs on device after the required ML Kit components are available.
Optional AI recognition
If you configure AI OCR, the app asks before sending selected document pages to the configured provider. The API key is encrypted using Android Keystore.
Sharing and voluntary support
Files are disclosed only to apps you choose through Android sharing. If voluntary support is enabled for a permitted distribution channel, Stripe-hosted payment services process the payment and the app does not receive card details.
The app may use Google Play services / ML Kit for scanning and local recognition, OpenAI only when optional AI OCR is configured and confirmed, and Stripe only where support payments are enabled and you choose to use them. You can remove local documents in the app; items in Recently Deleted are permanently removed after 30 days or when you delete them manually.

Does Doc Scanner 2027 work offline?+
Scanning, PDF creation, signatures and free on-device Latin-script OCR work locally after the required Google ML Kit components are available. Optional AI OCR requires a network connection.
Where are my documents stored?+
Documents are stored in the app's private local workspace. A file leaves the device only when you explicitly share it or confirm optional AI recognition.
Does signing replace my original document?+
No. Applying signatures creates a separate signed copy, so the original remains available.
Can I scan several pages at once?+
Yes. Capture pages one after another in the scanner; the document is saved as a single PDF right away, and you can add, reorder, crop or remove pages afterwards.
